Diane come to Whidbey Island to get away. She is going through a messy divorce and doesn't know who she is anymore. She was always the good wife, who gave up everything for her husband. Now she is alone, no job, no husband and not where she thought she would be.
Now, on the island, she meets her new neighbor John. Super handsome lumberjack who is at a crossroads in his life as well. He is involved with the wrong women, and is getting older.
Diane and John have quickly become friends because they live next door and see each other a lot, but then it becomes more. Neither are sure where this relationship is going to go, since neither is looking for a relationship. But there is so much between them, it is hard to deny.
I enjoyed this contemporary romance. It was a refreshing read for me. It wasn't all about sex and insta love. It was more about being an adult and dealing what life gives you.

This was my favorite book in this series. Maybe because we got to know Tom in Ready To Fall. Tom is a confirmed bachelor. He doesn't want a relationship or babies or marriage. He likes his life the way it is. All the other stuff can be left to his sisters and cousins.
When his sister's old friend, Hailey, moves back to the island she shakes up Tom's. Once Hailey was annoying and a just a little kid. Now she is all grown up and there is something about her that gets under Tom's skin.
Hailey knows all about Tom and his reputation. When her and her fiancee break up, she seeks out Tom for a quick one night stand. Neither of them bargain on becoming more. Never in Tom's dreams, did he think he could fall in love and want more with a women, never mind that women being Hailey.
I loved Tom and how he changed throughout the book. He dealt with a lot of ups and downs. He found love and lost someone important to him. Family was always there for him and so was Hailey. This story made me laugh and cry. A great read!!

A weekend in Cabo has changed Erik, bit not in the way you think. See, Erik is now famous for his butt. Yes, his Butt. Someone snapped a picker when he was skinny dipping on vacation and it has lead to him being an internet star. This is something Erik is not happy with. His whole life has changed now thanks to some stranger posting this picture.
Erik liked his quite island life. He likes small town America and making his own coffee..now thanks to Cari and her craziness (which included her ex fighting him in Cabo and posting the picture), his life in front page gossip.
My problem was Erik was so immature. I thought he was in his 20's but he was older. He never dealt with his problems head on, but rather ran away from them
It was a cute contemporary romance, but I liked Tom's story better! If being famous for having your butt all over the internet id your biggest problem in life, then you are lucky!
