Melissa Foster is my go to author. She always seems to get me with her books. We just click. Catching Cassidy is her newest book in her newest series Harborside Nights. All new characters in a new place having new problems. This book centers around Cassidy and Wyatt.
Wyatt has always been Cassidy's person. They have been best friends for as long as they can remember. The three musketeers. Cassidy, Wyatt and Wyatt's twin sister Dehlia.
On the night of their college graduation Wyatt and Delilah lose both parents in a tragic car accident. This changes their lives forever. Going from college students to adults in a blink of an eye.
To add to everything going on, Wyatt and Cassidy have been ignoring the intense chemistry that has been between them. It seems to have always been there, but they have been ignoring. Now, there is no more ignoring. Spending the summer in the same house, and living under the same roof makes them see what has always been there.
Cassidy has been living under her parent's strict rules and expectations for a long time. She is now coming into her own and realizing maybe their expectations for her and not what she wants. I have read a lot of Melissa Foster books, but this is my first F/F book, and I must say it was not what I expected. This book was an emotional story about Delilah coming to terms and excepting her sexuality.
Delilah has been coming to terms with her feeling and emotions dealing with her parents tragic death. Right before they died, she came out to them. Thinking they wouldn't or didn't accept her has been really hard on her. Adding to her own feelings is too much for her at times. Delilah thought her parents would not be happy about her sexuality, so she never really acted on it. She has been hiding everything for years.
When Delilah met Ashley, there was some kind of healing that took place for her. She started becoming more and more accepting of who SHE was as a person. Ashley was a perfect for for Delilah. She is kind and compassionate as well as supportive.
I really didn't know how I was going to feel about this book, but they way Melissa Foster told the story was really fantastic for me. I am going to have to jump into Tempting Tristan next!!
