Together We Heal is book 4 in the Rise and Fall series. Although you can read it as a stand alone, it will be a better reading experience if you read the whole series to get better understanding as to what is going on, because this one jumps right into the story with no real back story. Since I read the other books a while ago, I had to go back to my past reviews to see what I was forgetting.
This is Trish and Max's story. To say that Trish is a little messed up in an understatement. She has had a rough life. Her parents cooked meth in her basement and never really cared for her. She is lucky because her brother was more like her parent. He raised her and now he is having his ever after with his girlfriend (their story continues here which was a nice treat).
Trish and Max have this weird relationship. Max is in love with Trish, but Trish is not sure she can handle a normal relationship. She has some things she is keeping secret from Max and doesn't know if when she shares them with him, he will still be there for her.
I really loved Max. He has to be a good guy. Trish, I knew it was gonna be a hard sell for me to like her. I have to say... her secret wasn't life shattering. While it was different, I wasn't really feeling it.
This book was a ok read for me. My favorite in this series is still the Deeper We Fall book.
