Synopsis
When FBI Special Agent Kate Ross is injured in a drive-by shooting, Hamilton Investigation and Security, Inc. (H.I.S.) leader Jesse Hamilton, believing she is the target of a killer seeking revenge against him, pulls the full force of H.I.S. into action to protect her.
Kate doesn’t believe Jesse, the only man to make her seethe one minute and lust after him the next, when he approaches her with a note from the Facilitator stating someone he loved would die shortly, and he knows in his gut it’s Kate. This story had lots of twist and turns and the ability to shock you with the truth. I did not see that coming at all. The chemistry between Jesse and Kate was almost touchable on the pages of the book. I am looking forward to more in this series about the H.I.S. family.
Kate Ross is doing what she loves being an FBI agent along with her partner A.J. Hamilton. This has her seeing his oldest brother Jesse a lot; Jesse is a hard ass but oh sexy as hell. When Kate is put in danger Jesse steps up to protect her even though she fights him every step.
Jesse Hamilton is the head of H.I.S. and finally getting his life back after a tragic accident. His daughter Reagan is his life along with his family. He will do anything to protect them which extend to Kate since she is A.J. partner.
But as Jesse puts the rules in place to keep Kate safe, Kate the head strong woman that she is will put up a fight. She does not need a man to protect her. And who will protect her heart that seems to want to give itself to Jesse? As they both learn to deal with being around each other, Jesse and Kate realize that they want more.
Can Jesse and Kate learn to let go and love? Will Jesse be able to find the killer before Kate is another person he was unable to protect? How will Kate tell Jesse’s a secret that could make him leave?
This book was full of twist and turns, never knowing what would happen next. The banner between Jesse and Kate was great along with the side characters of handsome brothers and co workers at H.I.S. I do believe Ms. Kell has an amazing series on her hands.
