Katherine (Katie) Calder is happy, or is she? Married to a patient, loving and
handsome lawyer who has been her life for 6 years – Chris. He wants nothing more
than a 'normal' happy family life - will being with Katie ever give him that?
Katie does not know how to love him or anyone but she knows she could not be
without him. She has detached from life, from love, from any true emotion yet
Chris continues to love her unconditionally wishing for the day she will declare
her love and even cry for the first time since he has known her.

Katie's
mother - Jill Williams is desperately trying to rebuild a relationship with her
daughter who has been missing from her life for six years for reasons she has
never understood. Bringing Gerry back into Katie's life was not the answer.
Gerry brought back the horror of her 'missing years' causing her distress,
misery and even blackouts. Why, what had Gerry done? What had happened in those
two years when she had been missing that could cause this pain and anguish and
if they found out would they feel the same about her? Katie didn't think so, she
had to protect them against the truth and she had to face her past - but at what
cost?

smiling one minute and then feeling hurt and pain the next. You want it to work
out, you want the happy ending - but then life is never that straightforward,
this book will leave you with a void, this book will leave you disconnected!

Wow where to begin.  I haven’t felt this much for a book and the characters in the book in a long time.  It was raw, emotional, break your heart in a million pieces but then the love and support throughout the book between Chris and Katie was breathtaking.

Katie having left her husband 6 months ago to try to cope with the things that have happened in her life.  She feels this was the best thing to do for him.  She does not want to cause him anymore pain and feels that he would be better off without her in his life, that he will find a new love to make happy memories with.

Chris, Katie’s husband never gave up on her.  She is his lighthouse, his home.  Even after all this time, he still needs and wants her.  He used the time that Katie was gone to work through some of his issues with things that happened to Katie and him.  He knew that he had to be there to support her even when she did not know it.  He learns truths about the situation and brings them to light for Katie.

Katie on tour to promote her book doesn’t realize that Chris is ready to move back into her life.  After all this time, just hearing his voice, she still loves him with all her heart.   She is unable to deny him when he asks to meet and talk.

As things from the past come to light, Katie and Chris must learn to move together to make it work as a whole.  They make a great team.

I felt so bad for Katie and Chris.  The things Katie had to suffer through broke my heart.  I cried several times throughout the book.  Chris showed us what true love really means, no matter what you always fight for who you love.  Looking forward to more from this author.
