I have never read a Katy Regnery novel before, but I am in love. This book and author brought me back to 10 years ago, when I started reading romance novels. It reminded me of a Carly Phillips novel. And let me tell you, that might be one of the best compliments I can hand out because I LOVE Carly Phillips.
See Jane Fall is the throw book in the Heart of Montana series. Since I didn't know about the others, I can tell you first hand that this can be read as a stand alone book.
Jane sees herself as a plain Jane. That could be because her cousin is a super model. Jane has always been second fiddle to her cousin, Samara Amaya.. It doesn't help that they grew up together after Jane's parents were killed in a car accident.
Jane heads to Montana because her cousin is doing a photo shoot. Because Samara needs a lot of pampering, Jane heads out to the location ahead of time with all her luggage and what not to make sure things are going to be up to par.
If I ever dislikes a character before actually meeting her in a book, it has to be Samara Amaya. She seems like an uptight, pompous ass, and this is even before she speaks a word!!
When Jane gets to Montana she meets Lars Lindstrom. Super hotly/ tour guide. To me, Lars is the male equivalent to Jane. If there was ever a ring to her yang it is Lars.
Jane know she cant how a candle to her cousin. So when it comes to men, Jane doesn't even seem to bother. She fears the are all after Samara. Because of Jane's insecurities, it makes it hard for her to have a relationship.
There is a lot of angst and frustration between Jane and Lars. Neither say what they feel, or act on it. When they do, boy it is steamy.
I adored this book and cant wait to read more Katy Regnery in the future!
