Synopsis

Tessa Teevan outdid herself with this book!
Incinerate is one of the best book I have read so far in 2014. While I enjoyed Ignite, I LOVED Incinerate. I wanted to reach out a give Tessa a hug and tell her how great I thought this story was. I laughed so hard at times and then I other times I felt my heart break a little This book was such a great story and can totally be read as a standalone.
Knox Wellington is a career solider, who defuses bombs for a living. After a serious injury, he is sent home to recover. He hates the fact he is hurt, needs others to help him and not is not out with his fellow comrades defusing bombs. Know is in a really bad place emotionally and physically. He is in pain from his injuries and is taking it out on anyone that pretty much crosses paths with him.
Charlie Davenport has a soft spot for military men. Her dad being one of them. Since she spent her life with them, she is always volunteering for something to help them out. This time she volunteers to help injured soldiers who come home and need something like a personal assistant. Charlie has extra time on her hands and thinks this is the perfect fit.
The night before her assignment starts, she heads out to a local bar/club with her friends. While there, she musters up enough courage to go and hit on a hot, broody guy who is there with his friends. Little does she know, he is her future assignment. Knox shoots her down right away, not that he doesn't find her attractive. He thinks she is hot. His medicine is making him.... feel less of a man.
When Charlie shows up and finds out Know is her assignment, she would love to just bolt out of there. Instead she tackels it head on. Charlie was raised to confront things not run. She was assigned to help him, and she will do whatever it takes. Knox on the other hand, is being standoffish and mean at time. He tests her at every turn.
Since both Charlie and Know has horrible ex's in their past, neither of them are trusting. They both are very cynical when it comes to the opposite sex. Down the road this works in their favor. Because of bad relationships, they have a common ground for a friendship. I loved how they became very good friends. Their friendship will lead to a great relationship. The couple works their way from arguing all the time, to friends, to lovers. The storyline flows so easily. I absolutely loved this book.
I can not wait for the next one. If it is anything like this, then I will be reading it the second it comes out.
