“No it’s not, Drew. Women equally have that urge. That need to get down and dirty as much as a man. It’s just not as widely accepted for women to feel that way without being called a tramp.”
“You don’t need a guy to validate yourself.” I sound like a fucking hypocrite, given that I was trying to push her onto Rob that day at the beach. But that was different. And it was before I thought I was going to lose her. Things have changed. Jesus fucking Christ, would you listen to yourself! What is all this ‘feelings’ bullshit going on in my head?!

Roomie Wars was such a delightful surprise for me! I went into this book, not knowing too much about it and fell in love with it!!
Zoe is looking for a roommate. She is in a bind, because her last roommate up and left her. She is scrambling to find a new one and knows she needs someone who is reliable and not going to be a crazy person. It is hard to find a stranger to live with and get along with. This time she has decided to look for a male roommate. Zoe thinks this could be the answer to her problems. Males are less drama and more what she is looking for. If only she could find a normal one who she is not attracted to and wont have to worry about.
When she meets Andrew, she thinks she has found the perfect one. He is in med school. so he is smart and always studying. He is overweight and she is in shape. There is no attraction off the bat. He seems like a great fit.
As time goes on. Andrew and Zoe seem to switch places. Andrew gets into shape and Zoe is letting herself go. Zoe is dealing with sitting on the couch eating ice cream and being depressed because she was in a crappy relationship and found out her ex cheated on her with her best friend. Now, Zoe just mopes and Andrew is the one out and having fun.
When Andrew decides that Zoe has had enough moping, he forces her to go out with him and his friends. She needs the get over her ex and be herself again. At the beach, Zoe has a near death experience that makes her see that she is not where she wanted to be when she hits 30.
Things get a little crazy when she sees her ex at a wedding. Zoe and Andrew present to be a couple for Zoe's sake. She wants her ex to think she moved on and Andrew just wants to punch her ex in the face, so this is a compromise. When they share a kiss under false pretenses, feelings come to the surface for both Zoe and Andrew. This leads to a can of worms opening.
I must say, I really loved this story. I was on pins and needles the last few chapters. Holding my breathe, I was not sure where the couple would end up. Obstacles come up and lead Zoe and Andrew to different paths. The ending made me both laugh and cry,
I loved this book so much, I am now getting all of Kat T. Masen's other books!
