She grew up reading the Sweet Valley Series (Twins, High, & University) among others. Back then she would use notebook paper to create stories and cut pictures out of her mother's JC Penney catalogs for the characters she wanted to portray. Shawn Dawson is an Illinois native who resides in Elgin. He has always been an athlete, which has led to many achievements. He is also a published cover model for fifteen books with more to release. His newest journey has taken him on a different path to pursue writing. He is making his debut as an author alongside S.R. Diesel Beck, Rock God and God’s Gift to Women, as he considers himself is about to Rock your world or is his world fixing to get Rocked like he has never seen. Diesel is your typical lead singers, good looking, hot bod, attitude to go with it all and of course he can show the ladies how it is really done. But he has a dark side that he doesn’t show many people. He tries to keep to himself. He has rules for the women that he beds but one look at her and all of his rules begin to change.
Lourdes Drake is coming to spend the summer with her brother. Her chance at getting up close and personal with the inner workings of a band is just what she needs to jump start her college education. She plans to be a music journalist. What better way? As she meets the guys from the band, her hearts skips a beat for Diesel but she knows that nothing good can come out of it. Plus she does not do the man thing. She is not ready for any type of relationship. Lourdes has secrets too that she needs to protect herself from him, Diesel.
As Lourdes gets use to living with a group of guys and their way of life, the glances and stares start to be too much for Lourdes and Diesel. There seems to be an invisible line that is pulling the two of them together. But can they keep this attraction a secret? Will Lourdes give into the sex appeal of Diesel? Or will she become Diesel’s latest bed toy? Plus Diesel and Lourdes both has secrets, once they are revealed, will it change everything?
The story was good. I enjoyed getting to see the wild side of a rock band. But Diesel’s attitude toward women made him unlikeable even with his sex appeal. Lourdes seemed to be a sweet confused little girl but once her secret was told, then you could understand her better. One of the things I didn’t like about the book was the grammatical errors. I keep finding myself wanting to write the pages and corrections down to send to the authors. But I am looking forward to see more of what the guys in S.I.N. has in store.
