EXCERPTS:
1:

A therapist would have a field day analyzing my work mentoring needy women. Yet tonight was something else entirely. What I just shared with Brielle is unlike anything I’ve done before. It wasn’t just mentoring; it was more. I lose myself when I’m with her, and it fucking terrifies me.

As I rise from the bed, awareness burns inside me that I’ve never fallen asleep at a client’s house. Usually I can’t get out of there fast enough, wanting a hot shower and the comfort of my own bed.
Yet right now, I can still smell Brielle’s scent on my fingers, and I don’t even want to wash my damn hands. She’s marked me, and I know it isn’t something I can simply wash away. My hands, hanging limp at my sides, already miss the feel of her, and my mouth yearns for the taste of her. My pulse pounds in my ears as I try to figure out what this all means.

2:
I take a minute to survey her. She’s petite, just like I imagined her. Brunette. Big blue eyes whose gaze drifts between mine and the floor as if she doesn’t know where to look. There must be some goddamn mistake, because there’s no way she’d need any help attracting a man. But if it’s my help she wants, I won’t refuse her.
“May I?” I ask, pulling out the seat next to her and moving toward it. She’s timid, and I need to remember my manners.
“Please,” she says. “I’m Brielle.”
“No names.”
“Everyone calls me Brie, though.” She twists her hands in her lap.
“Sweetheart?” I say, and her gaze darts up to mine. “I said no names.”
“Oh. I’m sorry.” She swallows down her nerves. “But what should I call you?”
“You may call me Dom.”
Our gazes connect, and a flash of desire pools low in my spine. Fucking hell. This should be interesting.

3:
“It’s just us tonight,” I whisper, fighting the urge to kiss her mouth.
“Where are the ropes? The whips? The chains?”
“You want ropes?” I ask, my tone hollow. Maybe I can’t give her what she needs after all.
“I don’t understand,” she says softly.
This is too real, too intimate, and she knows it. Her questioning blue eyes see everything. All my motivations are stripped bare; I don’t need to say a word. She was expecting something crazy, but all she’s getting is me. I want to pretend she’s mine for one last night before I have to release her.

I cross the room and stand directly in front of her, pushing my hand inside her coat to place it firmly on her waist and drag her close.

How does Kendall Ryan keep me falling more and more with love with her books?? I remember reading her book from 2 years ago (Hard to Love) and it stuck with me for over 2 years. I can remember every detail of that book. I fell in love with Kendall's books then and she has kept me a fan throughout all the other books.

The Gentleman Mentor was no different. Brie is a shy and nervous type who has a crush on her male best friend. She wants to act on it but it too shy. She decides to hire a "mentor" who dables in BDSM and will make Brie come out of her shell. She knows nothing about him except for what he tells her in his ad.

Hale is the Dom, but he is so much more than that. He starts off hard core and rough, but he is more than a sweetheart underneath. Hale is trying to get Brie out of her shell, but while doing that he sees there is so much more to her than just shy little Brie. He starts to have feelings he hasn't had in a long time. There was a reason he choose to be a Dom and live his life the way he does.

Brie knew going into this arrangement that is was just a lesson plan, nothing more. Why can't Brie separate the lessons for feelings. She knows right away this is going to be bad. She is starting to have feelings for Hale. so much more than Dom/Sub.

I absolutely loved this book. It was hot and steamy with a romance twist to it. I always know, Kendall Ryan is my go to author when I want a good read!!
