Sasha, orphaned at a young age, always knew that she was not your normal girl. She thrived by looking into the dark, sensing that there was more out there than meets the eye. She was shocked when she was able to see creatures moving in the darkness.

As the story unfolds, Sasha and Jared, boyfriend, happen to come into contact with a couple of these creatures, who turn out to be vampires of sorts. Not your ordinary vampires, more a breed of sexual beings that are able to get into your minds, making you feel and want sex all the time then able to make you forget it all.

These vampires are fighting a silent war among other creatures in the night unknown to humans. Stefan, sexy alpha male is the leader of this group of vampires. Sasha spikes an interest in Stefan that has him questions himself when she is around.

Sasha needs answers as to why she can see them, can feel when Stefan is near. She puts herself in danger to bring Stefan out. As both the bad creatures and Stefan find Sasha, the fight begins. Stefan seems to be losing his battle with the creatures, Sasha unable to let anything happen to him, is able to dig deep inside her to find a spark of hope. As she unleash something on the creatures, she is able to save them.

Sasha possesses some kind of dark magical powers that she did not know she had. She is wanted by both the creatures and Stefan, unsure of if she is good or evil.

I am looking forward to the next books in this series to see how Sasha learns to deal with her new found magic. Will Stefan and Sasha continue to deny their destiny to be together? Can Stefan’s group of vampires win the war waging on during the night?

As book 2 picks up where book 1 left off. We are shown more into the personal side of the characters. You learn who to like, trust and dislike. Not all of them are who they seem.

Sasha now living in a cottage hidden by deep magic on the grounds of the mansion estate of Stefan’s clan has to go back to school, magic school. Of course she becomes easily distracted once the teachers start to talk. She is more a hands on kind of girl. Sasha does her best to learn but still the other students make fun of her daily.

With her insecurities and having a hard time dealing with this she needs an escape away from Charles, her only friend, and the others there. She knows exactly where to go, the secret chamber room in the mansion.

Finally feeling at peace with the magically elements around her, Sasha is able to relax. Stefan, still fighting his attraction to Sasha senses she is upset and goes to her. They give into the attraction. Finally both feeling like they have found their other half.

Stefan and Sasha continue to build their relationship even though she is a human. Stefan does something that has not been done in hundreds of years in his group solidifying his feelings for Sasha for all to see. She finally feels at home with Stefan. She belongs.

School continues for Sasha, she is kidnapped right out from under Stefan’s nose by another group of vampires. The White Maga is pure evil with spies within Stefan’s group. As good versus evil fight, Sasha throws some of her magic around to help save them.

As the story of Stefan and Sasha continue in book 3, I am sure there will be more twist and turns on the pages to come.

Life for Sasha isn’t getting easier. She has survived run-in’s with monstrous Dulcha, lived through an abduction, and even made it passed Charles’ constant badgering for sex. But if she thought the hurdles of this new life would simmer down, she was dead wrong.

When the Regional comes to visit Stefan’s clan, the pressure increases. Sasha finds herself on a giant scale, assessed for her magic and held in the balance. If she doesn’t have the magic Stefan hopes, she could find herself on the street while still in grave danger. Even with a favorable outcome, however, her inability to use her magic presents a road block not easily crossed.

No, life is not getting easier.

Stefan feels the heat, too. He must finally declare a mate, and admitting to desiring a human is the worst form of taboo. He could jeopardize not only his place as leader, but his and Sasha’s life. His decision is like walking on a razor’s edge.

As evil continues to plot how to capture Sasha, Stefan is visited by the Regional, Dominicous, more or less his boss to see this human who possess the ability to throw black magic, the highest form of magic and believe to be a myth.

Sasha is able to show them her magic in all forms. It is then decided that she will be sent away to learn how to control her magic. Enter a new group of paranormal creatures, Mata, Shape Changers. Stefan has a dislike for these animal creatures. But trust that Dominicous knows what he is doing.

As Sasha, Toa, Dominicous’s right hand man who possess white magic, Charles and Jonas are sent with her to protect her in the Mata camp. They are to keep her safe at all cost.

Things seem to be going along magically when once again there are spies within Stefan’s group that help to plot to capture of Sasha. Once again fighting with the groups, but this time Stefan has the Mata group on his side.

Sasha knows she can not run away and let innocent people die for her. She runs straight into the fighting to help. She keep her magic under control to give an advantage to Stefan and the Mata’s. After all is done, they are able to capture the White Maga, Trek but Andris and the spy within Stefan’s group are able to escape.

Dominicous feels that Sasha is well suited to become Stefan’s mage, not only does she possess the highest level of magic, kindred blood but they are linked together. She is presented to his congregation, as she looks out among them, she can see that not all will accept her.

There is a secret revealed to Sasha about her childhood that is unbelievable. But is seems more secrets will be revealed in book 4.

About the Author

A wine country native, she moved to San Francisco for college just shy of a decade ago to pursue a lifelong interest in film. As she settled into the vibrant city, it quickly became apparent that, while she thought making films was great fun, she lacked cinematic genius. For that reason, her career path quickly changed direction. Her next goal was a strange childhood interest, conjured at the dining room table while filling out a form. For some reason, her young self wanted to be an accountant. Thinking on it now, she wonders how she had any friends. Regardless, it was the direction she finally took.

While she could wrangle numbers with the best of 'em, and even though she wore the crown as the most outspoken, belligerent accountant in the world, her mind got as stuffy as her daily routine. It was here that she dusted off her creative hat and began writing. Now she makes movies in her head, and then writes them down. Way easier than dealing with actors--she should know, she’s been one!
